How do I Choose Templates for Web Professional Sites?

Author: Sylvie Leochko

How do I choose templates for web professional sites? This is not an easy task! What kind of template should I use? How much money can I expect spending on business templates? There are so many questions, so few answers and so much confusion. If these concerns describe your state of mind, you have come to the right place. Now just, sit back, relax and get the information that you want.

Are you ready to build your own website? Have you been confused about how to approach the idea of templates, where and how to choose the most efficient template while displaying the character of your site? Well, here are a few tips that will make your final choice easier.

Get some advice and ideas!

Search for advice on forums, browse various websites and take notes about colors, styles, logos, buttons and navigation styles. Also notice the things that you like and dislike such as pictures, animated graphics and special effects. Then read your notes and select the strongest points and suggestions that you have on your list. Make a general plan of what you want and a first draft of the organization of your site.

What kind of template?

View a variety of types of templates such as: HTML, Flash, Dreamweaver, Frontpage, etc. You can browse amongst free customizable flash banners and templates as well as custom website designs such as: business window templates customweb designs. When you are done, make a budget and choose the template that meets both your needs and your budget.

Pick a logo!

When you pick a logo, take something that is both inviting and appealing to the eye of your visitors. Something that moves, such as animated graphics can be more irritating and annoying than interesting as it may disturb your visitors while they are reading your content. You logo should reflect your main topic, be catchy and easy to read and spell out. Creativity is good if not overdone! Some customized templates can also offer a logo that is done for you and reflects what you want for a reasonable price. This way, you can count on the uniqueness of your logo.

Is the color important?

The colors of your site depend on the main topic and the type of patronage that you are aiming for. For example, if you are looking to attract kids or sports fans, brilliant colors such as red and yellow may be the way to go. For a site based on nature and environment, green or blue may be more appropriate. Health based websites are usually using light and pastel colors contrary to business oriented sites which seem to use the most popular colors which are darker shades of blue, green and purple. As for the background colors, the lighter colors are the preferred ones as they make reading easier than darker colors.

What about the buttons?

The type of buttons that you want to use is simple, big enough to read the topic and the font is readers friendly. You should also make sure that the order of topics is logical and that if they use special effects such as marble, that they do not interfere with the writing which would irritate your readers.

What should I look for concerning the navigation options?

The best way to navigate is to offer your readers an easy way to browse your site without the frustration being part of the deal. Some sites will use a Nav Bar on the first page and text links or links to articles on the other pages. While this may seem smart as for some webmasters, it gets your potential customers where you want them; their frustration may encourage to look elsewhere or never to come back. So why not give your visitors the motivation to come back and even share their satisfaction with others which could lead to an increase of traffic and potential customers. Dont trick your visitors, guide them instead! As they say: Once bitten, twice shy!

Now that you are well equipped with these useful tips, your choice amongst templates for web professional sites should be easier for you to do. I wish you the best in your search of a website template.
